Simple Shredded Chicken in a Crockpot
This is one of my favorite things to make on Sunday or early in the week as the chicken can be used throughout the week.
I put it in a big container and then pull from it and appropriately flavor or season for a variety of recipes days later.
Prep time: A few minutes
Cook time: 4-6 hours in a crockpot
Servings: 8 cups
Ingredients:
4 large Chicken Breasts
1 cup chicken broth- be sure to use grass fed when possible
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp onion powder
Or any season of your choosing depending on flavor you’re going for
Instructions:
Place chicken breasts into crockpot and cover with broth and all seasonings.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Go live your life
Remove chicken, let cool slightly, shred by using a fork in each hand to separate the pieces.
Serve right away or save for later in a container in the fridge.
I use this over salads, in gluten free or lettuce wraps for burritos, for Taco Tuesday and more. This chicken is also really good with some primal kitchen BBQ sauce, rice, avocado and salsa.
Delish!
Enjoy.
